The Patel Conservatory accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover Card online, via phone or in person. The Admissions Office additionally accepts checks, money orders or Straz Center gift cards. The Admissions Office does not accept cash.


Tuition and fee prices vary by class. Prices are listed online in the class listing and in our printed brochure. New students are accepted throughout the school year and tuition is prorated based on the date of registration. Tuition and registration fees, including those for private lessons, are due at the time of registration. All tuition and fees are non-refundable.


School year: Payment plans are available for school year tuition only and are offered as a courtesy to our families for a minimal convenience charge. Students joining after the start of the school year pay a pro-rated tuition amount based on the full class tuition. Monthly payments are not pro-rated for holidays, scheduled breaks or missed classes. Monthly payment plans must be secured by an automatic withdrawal from a bank account or charged to a credit card on the 20th of each month. Payments not cleared by the end of the month will be assessed a $20 late fee on the first of the following month. PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer payment plans for summer camps, summer classes, or fees. Examples of fees: registration fee, recital fee and participation fee.
Summer: Summer camps and intensives must be paid in-full at the time of registration. In all instances tuition must be paid-in-full by the start of camp.


REGISTRATION FEE:  A $30 per student, per term registration fee is assessed with your first enrollment each term and is due at the time of registration. The 2 terms in a calendar year are school year (Sept – May) and summer (May – August).
Registration fees for a full calendar year are waived for current Straz Center donors who give at the minimum donation level of $100. Applies to all members of the donor’s household. Receive this and other benefits by becoming a donor today by calling 813.222.1040 or by visiting
RECITAL FEES: Most dance classes require a recital fee to participate in performances. Recital fees are automatically charged to the account on file and are billed October 20 if not paid in advance. For more details, please see the information sheet for your class on the website.


  • Discounts do not apply to workshops, private lessons, recital or production fees.
  • Some discounts are not available for web purchases.
  • Discounts may not be combined and may not be combined with scholarships.
  • Discounts cannot be applied to prior purchases.
  • It is the registrant’s responsibility to be aware of any discounts for which they may qualify. Discounts must be requested at the time of registration. Those requested after registration will not be honored.

Multi-Class Discount

Enroll in three or more classes and receive 10% off the cost of each class. The discount applies to multiple students in one household taking a total of three or more classes or one student taking three or more classes. All classes must be registered for at the same time in order to receive the discount on all classes, otherwise, the discount will be applied to only the third and/or subsequent classes.

Try Before You Buy/Pass to Class

Before registering, interested students may try one class per student, per discipline for free. Some classes may be observation only. Visit the Admissions Office to obtain a Pass to Class which is presented to the class instructor. Pass to Class is not available for Open Dance classes.

Hillsborough County School Employees

Current Hillsborough County school employees receive 20% off of tuition for classes they are enrolled in. Must present a school ID or current pay stub. Valid for employees only. Not valid for dependents of HCPS employees.

Partnership School Students

Students currently enrolled in a Straz Education partner school receive 20% off tuition. Some exclusions apply. To qualify, present a student ID or letter on school letterhead from the lead teacher of the school. Current partner schools include:

  • Vocal Arts: Chorale - $200 discount for Vocal Arts: Chorale when enrolled in Women’s or Men’s Ensemble.
  • Music Theory I & II / Music History - Receive half off when enrolled in another music class.
Theater Discounts:
  • Theater Certification - Theater Certification students receive 20% off tuition. All classes must be approved by their advisor to qualify.
