Mark Lubas

Mark Lubas, tenor, made his debut in 1996 with the Nashville Symphony as the tenor soloist in Handel's Messiah.  Soon thereafter, he moved to Boston and earned two Master of Music degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music (Vocal Performance, Opera); Mr. Lubas performed roles with companies across the U.S., including Aspen Opera Theatre Company, Ash Lawn-Highland Summer Festival, Boston Lyric Opera, Mobile Opera, Opera Carolina, and Granite State Opera.  Concert engagements have included tenor solos in oratorios and masses by Verdi, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Handel, Bach, and Mendelssohn.

In addition to the stage, Mr. Lubas is an experienced voice teacher and acting coach.  His teaching style operates on a simple principle, learned over 20 years of teaching: if we can help you achieve your own unique, healthy, consistent technique, singing and acting will be easier for you and more deeply felt by your audience.  The result: that wonderful feeling of connection between audience and performer, which serves as an inspiration to perform more often.

From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Lubas created and built the college-prep theatre training program at The Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, FL, and now has returned to do something he loves doing - running his voice teaching and acting training studio. Mr. Lubas lived in New England for most of his career, and moved to Sarasota, FL in 2004.
