Kristina Cutchens

A native of Tampa, FL she began playing piano at the age of eight and violin at age 10.  She attended the University of South Florida and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education with a concentration on violin studying with Carolyn Stuart.  While attending the University she performed in the Symphony Orchestra and began teaching privately.  After graduating she taught in Hillsborough County as a string specialist from the spring of 2002 until spring of 2007 and continued to teach privately.  During that time she accompanied the Fine Arts Festival Orchestra on piano, and her orchestra competed in MPA and solo and ensemble and received many superiors. 

Upon moving to Miami during the summer of 2007 she accepted the position as orchestra director at South Miami Middle School of the Arts.  Her students competed in competitions in Atlanta, Williamsburg, Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg received many superiors at solo and ensemble, participants in the All-State Orchestra, and Superiors at the District Music Performance Assessment.  She has served as an adjudicator for many district solo and ensemble along with Music Performance Assessments for the Florida Orchestra Association and served as District Chair for Miami and the 9/10 All State Chair.  Since returning to Tampa Kristina has been teaching Strings, Piano and Chamber at the Patel Conservatory and looks forward to continuing to help students develop their musical abilities.
