Nestor Garcia

Dance faculty photoNestor Garcia Santos was born in Holguin, Cuba. He started studying ballet at his mother’s academy when he was 5. In 2003 he graduated from the National Arts School and began his professional career with Ballet de Camaguey, where he performed in ballets including Giselle, La Fille Mal Gardé, The Nutcracker, Coppelia, and Swan Lake. Throughout his career as a professional ballet dancer he performed at prestigious theaters in Spain, Italy, Central and South America. He performed with Ballet de Camaguey for 7 years until he moved back to his hometown to work with Co-Danza where he had the opportunity to perform contemporary and latin.

He taught ballet while in Cuba, but he began teaching ballet full-time when he moved to the United States. He also started his professional ballroom career when he moved to the United States. Since he came to the US, he has performed as a guest artist in Les Sylphides, The Nutcracker, La Fille Mal Gardé, La Bayadere, and Sleeping Beauty for various companies within the central Florida area. He began teaching at the Patel Conservatory in 2014.
