Baxter Cheek

Elizabeth SmedleyBaxter Cheek is a native of Safety Harbor, Florida.  He has studied at numerous dance studios in Pinellas County, and has spent the past three years training at the Patel Conservatory.  Cheek has trained in tap, ballet, jazz and musical theatre dance.  While he enjoys and appreciates all styles of dance, tap dance is his favorite.  In addition to spending a summer training in New York City, Cheek has attended numerous tap festivals around the country to work with master tap teachers such as: Sarah Reich, Derick Grant, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Ted Levy, and Bill Irwin.  His dance ability has landed him several roles in community theater productions including 42nd Street and Gypsy.  Cheek is currently a student at St. Petersburg College. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of, and passion for, tap dance with his students.
